My name is Konstantinos and I am 25 yars old.Recently after a car accident with our Lada Niva 1.6 1987 model me and my dad bought a used one Niva 21214-20 2003 model!Mine is 3rd and my father`s the 5th. I am very excited to meet you and discuss about our Ladas. Thank you for accepting me in your forum!  And this is our previous.  We kept everything from th 2121 for spare parts. |

Car: 21214-20/2003 | Also I have another problem!In the morning and generally when my niva is cold and it starts the chain make noise.I change the chain tensioner but nothing.Do you thing that it can be stuck the oil delivery pipe or the adapter and the oil goes to the tensioner with low pressure? |

Bad quality of tensioner 99% (All spare parts that are sold on open market are non 100% comply to manufacturer specifications)
You need to install mechanical tensioner.

The oil I use is 10-40W synthetic!Correct me if I am wrong.To install a mechanical tensioner ( like 2121 has) I have to abrogate th oil pipe right?Because I am thinking to abrogate the adapter and put the old oil level instrument from my 2121 1.6. |

Car: ВАЗ-2131 Вошь МЕ17.9.7, 2021 г.в.; ВАЗ-21214 2008 г.в., ВОШЬ 7.9.7.Престиж 12V214. T-MAX | The specification of oil is correct. But due to some stupid reason hydraulic lifters and tensioners work different with oil of different manufacturers but same API specifications.
TO install mechanical tensioner you need to plug oil pipe or remove T-piece crossover with oil pipe and screw oil pressure sensor directly to engine.

The oil is Cyclon (I didn't mention it) next time I will put Castrol Magnatec I have heard it works great! |

Everybody who tried mechanical tensioner are happy with it's performance. But don't confuse tensioner for LADA 2121 and 21214, they are different. You need tensioners like this: Pilot or ISAII use Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 and Shell Helix HX7 10w-40 without any issue with tensioner and lifter

Hello to all members. Staying home it has and benefits, more time for our niva.So, I am thinking of changing the place of the fuel filter. As you can see in the image I will make two new high pressure fuel hoses (green colour), move the filter near engine (blue colour) and abrogate the fuel pipes (yellow colour).  What do you think?Do you know how I can find the inside diameter of the hoses? |

This action is highly undesirable for fire safety reasons, since the fuel filter will be located closer to the heated engine parts.It will also increase the likelihood of steam jams in the fuel line due to fuel boiling. ![[:nono]](/em?em=bm9ubw "No-no!")

Car: 21214-20/2003 |  Another option is to bring the filter back and make only one fuel hose and if there is a liquid the fuel will drop on the front diff. fuel filter will be located closer to the heated engine parts
I agree but and without this the fuel hose passes in front of the cylinder head all ready.
And off course I will make a protective piece with fire proof tape (like the exhaust pipes).If nothing works or is dangerous off course I won`t procced at this modification. |

Hello all i have installed ISAI tensioner today )) if you have all spare parts and materials (WD40) it takes approximately 3 hours Also if you change tensioner, you can change also termostat and cooling tubes. It will be much easier. You need remove oil pipe (red line on the picture) from oil pressure sensor (big red dot on the picture) till oil tensioner (automatic tensioner need no oil) P.S. Car: 21214-20/2003 | apl81aplThank you very much for the explanation.I have only one `problem` here in Greece no one import spare parts for lada, so I order them from other countries and unfortunately the shipping cost is a problem.So, the only tensioner it is easy for me is the pilot.It worth it or may I have a problem? I have thermostat and all the rapiator pipes (I will change them all) |
